Audubon New Mexico was proud to participate in Santa Fe’s Pride celebration this year. During Pride week we co-sponsored a Let’s Go Birding Together event with Wild Birds Unlimited and The Bird Hub. Volunteer bird walk leader, Cheryl Grindle, took a group of about 25 around the state capitol building, a very birdy area (who knew?) where we saw a Says Phoebe, a Sharp-shinned Hawk, many ravens for a spectacular Hitchcock moment, and various finches and sparrows.
For Santa Fe’s Pride Day, we handed out information and bird seed to parade spectators and curious browsers. It was a tremendous turn out and a lot of fun! Thanks to all who participated.
