We are looking for volunteers to restart RDAC’s phenology monitoring project! Phenology is the study of natural processes, timing, and cycles. We need volunteers to monitor and record changes in plant blooms, emergence of butterflies and insects, and other signs of change throughout the year. All information will be recorded and uploaded to the community science app, Nature’s Notebook, and shared with the wider Rio Grande Phenology Trail, which compares changes along the Rio Grande as well as over time.
If you are interested in being a naturalist, learning about local plants and wildlife, and helping us understand how climate change is impacting natural cycles, we encourage you to attend the training!
