Marleen is an artist, writer and communications professional born in Puerto Rico, raised in Texas, and currently residing in Albuquerque, New Mexico. She has experience in a slew of industries and is particularly invested in cultural equity, education, public policy, and the arts. Marleen has over 10 years of experience in journalism, marketing, and communications, working with nonprofits, universities, and private businesses.
Marleen graduated from the University of Iowa with degrees in Journalism and Mass Communication and Art History. She is currently pursuing a master’s degree in public policy at the University of New Mexico. In her spare time, you can find Marleen wandering art galleries, taking photos with one of her dozen cameras, or rooting on her favorite sports team, the San Antonio Spurs.
Marleen's favorite bird is the Great Blue Heron. She looks forward to continuing to bolster the communications efforts of Audubon Southwest.
