Audubon Conservation Volunteer Days

Volunteer and make a difference!

Want to make a difference?

Looking for an opportunity to make a difference for both the environment and your community? Join Audubon Southwest to improve wildlife habitat, install native plant gardens, build artificial burrows for Burrowing Owls, and more.

Audubon Southwest Conservation Volunteer Days are generally 8:00 a.m. to noon, depending on the project. Please be prepared to work outdoors in the desert environment. Be sure to wear comfortable clothing, closed toe shoes, and bring lots of water, a hat, and sunscreen.

No experience is necessary, tools will be provided, and all ages are welcome!

Audubon Southwest is offering volunteers several opportunities this spring:

  • Habitat Restoration at Rio Salado: Join staff to help with a variety of tasks depending on need. Work includes invasive plant removal, river clean-up, trail maintenance and planting seeds or native plants. Learn more and sign up here.
  • Burrowing Owl Relocation: A volunteer favorite! Audubon works "wing in wing" with the Wild At Heart Raptor Center to rehome Burrowing Owls displaced by development. Learn more and sign up here.
