After many years of being hampered by a world-wide pandemic, the staff of Audubon Southwest finally met together in person at the Randall Davey Audubon Center and Sanctuary in Santa Fe for a retreat Oct 19-21. Besides participating in a group hike and bird walks where we got to know one another better, we spent time exploring strategies for our work with birds, people, and the places they depend on in the southwest. We ended our time together with self-reflection and accountability and came away with a renewed and shared sense of purpose. We look forward as an organization and as individuals to increasing our efforts in water conservation, working lands, and climate action through advocacy, Center and Ranch work, and education and outreach.
