Clone of Yellow-billed Cuckoo Survey Training: Field practice
Tuesday, June 24, 2025
6:30am - 12:00pm Mountain

Join Audubon Southwest and our partners from US Fish and Wildlife Service, AZ Game and Fish Department, Southern Sierra Research Station and Tucson Audubon for two informative days outlining Western Yellow-billed Cuckoo (Coccyzus americanus occidentalis) natural history, habitat preferences, and survey protocol. Note that this training is required for those wishing to obtain federal permits for surveying this species.
Registered participants will select a field practice location convenient to them, and will spend a morning with experts practicing the protocol and filling out the field forms. To reduce impacts in the field, we've divided training into two days, allowing for smaller groups. Space is limited so be sure to register soon. Maps and instructions to field sites to be provided.
