Nick Beauregard

Working Lands Senior Program Manager

Nick Beauregard (he/him) leads a team focused on implementing habitat conservation and restoration actions to protect grasslands birds in Arizona and New Mexico. Originally from New England, Nick is a lifelong birder and naturalist. Following this passion, he earned his BA in Conservation Ecology from Sterling College in Vermont, and his PhD in Biology from Northern Arizona University.

As a regional leader in avian ecology and habitat conservation, Nick brings over 15 years of experience in applied conservation research, stewardship, and community engagement in the southwest. His expertise is demonstrated through scientific publications, awards and fellowships, and extensive service in professional societies and organizations. Nick is particularly passionate about finding ways to empower communities and stakeholders to participate in conservation and science that benefits both wildlife and people.

Residing in the rural town of Patagonia, Nick is active in the birding community and is also an avid cyclist, backpacker, river rafter, and fisherman. He also keeps busy by staying involved with local community organizations and events. Nick's favorite bird is the Black-capped Chickadee.
