Joey Kahn

Western Water Communications Manager

As the Western Water Communications Manager, Joey Kahn leads Audubon’s Colorado River and Saline Lake communications strategies. Based in Phoenix, Joey works across the West to tell stories of how an increasingly arid climate affects people and birds.

Joey joins Audubon most recently from the San Francisco Recreation & Park Department, where he served as a media and policy manager. In this role, he led a campaign to rebrand Dolores Park as a Leave No Trace public space. Prior to that, Joey was a producer and editor for WTOP Radio, the all-news radio station in Washington, D.C.  Joey holds a Bachelor’s degree in Journalism from Northwestern University and a Master’s Degree from Johns Hopkins University.

Joey's favorite bird is the Blue-and-yellow Macaw.
