Water Policy Fellow, Arizona

Arianna Ruvalcaba is a fourth-year student at Arizona State University, pursuing Bachelor of Science degrees in Biological Sciences (Biological Conservation and Ecology concentration) and Urban Planning, as well as participating in an accelerated Master of Science degree in Computational Life Sciences.

Ari is researching water-efficient landscape methods using bonsai cultivation techniques through an individual research project, mentored by Dr. Becky Ball at ASU West Valley. Additionally, she is a research aide for Arizona Water for All, a network within the Arizona Water Innovative Initiative. Her participation contributes to achieving water security in Arizona’s most water insecure communities.

To continue her goal of enhancing leadership in the water community, Arianna assists with the Water Leadership Institute, a program hosted along the Santa Cruz River to provide participants with educational resources and career opportunities in water resources.

Born and raised in Arizona’s West Valley, Arianna strives to build up her community and combat water scarcity and insecurity through research techniques, education, art, and policy. Her favorite bird is Anna's Hummingbird.
